Manipulating Selections in Chapter 3

This section really caught my attention when I was reading, because this adds the use of the spacebar to resize the selection area.
So, if you would like to select an oval shape, you would use the Elliptical Marquee tool, drag across the area to select, do not let go of left mouse button, then press the spacebar and drag. This is allowing you to move the selection to fit the area that you would like to include. You can repeat this process as many times as you need, just don't let go of the mouse button or you will have to go all the way back to step one.

Fun With Composition

For my first picture, the use of of lines is very apparent, but I believe there are way too many lines. My eyes do not know where to go... AHHH!!! Maybe if the artist just minimized the lines a bit, it would not be so bad.

For the second picture, centering is being utilized very well. The artist has centered this image on a black canvas, which allows it to be brought right out, making your eyes really know what to do... FOCUS!

Last, but not least, here is an example of framing. This is a natural frame, created by a cave. So someone is inside the cave, taking this shot. I believe this looks very good.

Graphic Design Photo Assignment

This picture is very proportional by the use of similar shapes in the same positions. The alignment is also very good, with the use of similar shapes.

This picture seems to have good balance with the main text, but to me, it looks to busy because of the addition of the scribble behind the main text. Also, there seems to be too much space at the top of the page, which could be used by positioning the text in different areas.
